One of our greatest resources during our time on earth is . . . time. The value of time defies description. I would go so far as to say that time is more valuable than money. A hundred dollars lost or spent can be regained. Maybe not that specific hundred dollars, but we can always make more money down the road. We can’t make more time. Once time is wasted, it’s gone. Years squandered on meaningless activities will never be seen again. Time is very valuable, indeed.
One of the things I love about time is that it is the great equalizer. No matter who we are or what we have going for us (or not going for us), we all get 24 hours to work with each and every day. No more, no less. How we spend it is largely up to us.
I have noticed something about the people I admire and look up to. For the most part, they are good time managers. They have a list of high priority items to attend to each day, and they make sure those things are taken care of. Also, the number of hours they spend on things that don’t add value to their lives or the lives of others is minimal. I like that.
Do you struggle with time management? Do you find it easy to slip into the habit of wasting valuable time on things that don’t matter – while struggling to squeeze in the things that do? If so, you are not alone. I’ve been there. But this is not something we can afford to ignore. Let’s endeavor to be more mindful of how we spend our time. After all, it is a resource and tool that Good has provided for us – to be used for His glory. With His help, we can master this. Let’s do it!
